I was born and raised in South Florida, where the values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership were instilled early in my life. At Martin County High School in Stuart, I was a four-year varsity starting quarterback, an experience that taught me not only the importance of preparation and perseverance but also how to bring people together to achieve a common goal. Those lessons in leadership have stayed with me and continue to shape the way I work with clients today.
I went on to attend the University of Florida, earning a degree in Computer Science. While my academic focus was technical, the program sharpened my ability to analyze complex information and approach problems with a structured, solutions-oriented mindset. During those years, I also pursued my passion for golf, playing on the club team and developing friendships that remain an important part of my life. Even today, I spend much of my free time on the golf course with family and friends.
It was in college that my interest in the financial markets truly took hold, setting me on the path toward becoming an advisor. Immediately after graduating, I joined a boutique advisory firm in Jupiter, Florida. There, I quickly became a licensed advisor and had the privilege of working with clients at all stages of life. My role often centered on building and managing large, multi-million-dollar portfolios while also taking the time to educate younger clients and the children of established families on the fundamentals of sound investing. These opportunities not only deepened my technical expertise but also reminded me of the importance of financial literacy and passing knowledge on to the next generation.
During those early years, I also pursued and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The rigorous curriculum, combined with the day-to-day experience of serving clients, provided me with the knowledge and perspective necessary to deliver a disciplined, research-driven approach to portfolio management. My investment philosophy is heavily influenced by the principles of Warren Buffett and Benjamin Graham: a focus on buying high-quality, productive assets and holding them for the long term.
With this foundation, I launched Kuyrkendall Capital to bring clients the clarity, discipline, and transparency I believe every investor deserves. While the firm is currently a solo practice, my vision is to build a team that shares the same commitment to putting clients first and delivering thoughtful, long-term financial guidance. I consider it a privilege to work with each client, helping them grow, protect, and enjoy the wealth they’ve worked hard to achieve.
